COLLECTIVE: A LOVE LETTER TO SEVILLA

Everyone knows Sevilla has un color especial, but for us, it’s more than special: both Horacio and Héctor have their roots there, and Héctor not only represents the city with Betis but is deeply in love with it.

PEPE, HÉCTOR’S FATHER, IS FROM SEVILLA AND A LOYAL BETIS FAN, SO THEIR BOND WITH THE GREEN-AND-WHITE CLUB RUNS DEEP

Héctor hinted us at some of his favorite places: the Hospital de los Venerables, which we visited in the rain; one of his top flamenco spots, where a jam session was happening; and Bar Garlochí, a historic spot over a century old, run by Miguel, who dressed Horacio as a saint and Clara as the Virgin, and served us his special combinado, Sangre de Cristo, ‘Blood of Christ.’

SEVILLA GREETED US WITH A VERY RAINY DAY

THE FLAMENCO GATHERING HÉCTOR FREQUENTS

The unexpected character of our Sevilla video game was Juan Carlos, a taxi driver who told us all the crazy stuff that can go down in a car.

Some of the team ran along the banks of the Guadalquivir; others went off to explore bodega after bodega after bodega. We’ll leave it up to you to guess who did what.
