Back in the 1950s, Jordi's father started producing handcrafted buttons for local haberdasheries, laying the foundation for what Botondor would become: a button design and manufacturing company with a complete selection of machinery for different production needs.
We came across them while searching for responsible options for the production of our trimmings. After scouting different companies across Spain and Portugal, it turned out that the right option was right here, next door, and at a better price than anywhere else. Botondor handles the manufacturing of all our buttons and stoppers, which are made from the seeds of the corozo palm tree. These seeds, harvested without causing deforestation or harm to the plant, are cleaned and processed to create lightweight and durable trimmings. As the dye seeps into the wood grain, it gives each piece a unique finish.
It’s always fun to visit Botondor. Since they're just a stone's throw away, we always bring them some croissants from La Tornada. Oh, and their building's doorman, Manolo, is a huge FC Barcelona fan, he's even got a little shrine set up in his booth. We love him, he always spoils Kata with treats.
