PROCESO: DESIGNING THE JALOQUE

The process of the JALOQUE began, as always, with ideas. Initially, there was quite a mix—ranging from biomimicry and penguins’ flippers to references from the uniforms worn by soldiers in snowy or desert environments, and even beekeepers’ gear.

Isra and Quim were looking for a wide hood without the feeling of a collar, where the fabric would hang loosely and fall straight down.

We envisioned the hood as adaptable so it could fit around the neck when cinched, yet starting with no fixed structure, creating an open shape. Once you gather it, the hood closes around the neck, and by pulling it from the back, you get a practical mask that reveals only your eyes. ADAPTABLE SISTEMA at its finest.

Our friends at SCOOP understood the assignment very quickly, and once we received the finished piece, we loved the internal taping so much that we decided to make it reversible—introducing the DUAL SISTEMA.

From a production standpoint, the JALOQUE turned out remarkably well: everything went smoothly for such a complex garment.

It tooks us 3 samples to make it.
